Well i decided to upgrade again a present to myself for my 18th birthday few months late but hey it covers it lol. Well im going to melbourne, florida to go pick up my new 400 gallon from a friend of mines. So far we have 6 guys helping with the move and i also bought those wooden furniture dollys from uhual 1000 weight captivity each i got 2 of them with 2x4's for weight distributing. The dollys will help a ton since we dnt have to talk with the tank simple slide off the stand a lil bit have 2 guys on each end & 2 guys in the front of the tank. Lower it down on the dollys roll rite on out the house then once to the trailer put 3 2x4's down and put the tank ontop of them allowing us to be able to grip the tank again without losing fingers. And basicly the same plan for loading it in my house. So wat do u guys/ladies think about this plan?

Sounds ok to me, furniture dollies can be a life saver.

When I went to pick up my big tank that's how me and my buddies got it out of the store.

Had to put it on its side and roll it out because it was too wide to fit through hallways/doorways.

Good luck with the move and keep us updated with pics when you get the build/setup started.

Thanks! Will do should only take me 2-3 hours to plumb landscape fill and add fish.

so like a good idea to me ;)

Sounds good. I always throw a blanket down over said 2x4 or a little padding like material.

Ye i was thinkin on wrapping 2x4's in bath towels or using painters covers to put on them

those $60 suction cups were very helpful with my tank move (those harbor freight $10 ones seem cheaply made). I only got 2 since they were so expensive but they did help a lot. Used one on each end, then the middle guys used straps going under the tank to grab. Getting a hold of the glass itself is not easy with this much weight.

And I can use them for moving smaller tanks by myself too so they weren't just used for that one move.
