Just wanted to share these 2 odd ball i got today. I first seen them a wk ago and there was a small amount of white spot in the tank. I went back to the same shop yesterday and both cl were still there but white spot had seemed to have gotten worse in the tank, felt so sorry for these guy, some of the loaches were in a bad way with some dead. I mentioned to the shop owner and he mentioned that he had treated them once and he would treat them again, not sure what he was using. Anyway i really want them especially the one with 4 stripe as i had never seen a 4 stripe Clown loach before and the guy with the spot was pretty cool as well. Anyway i shuffled things round and turned my betta tank into a hospital tank for the loaches. When i picked them up a noticed the spotted guy also had a bulging belly. Do you thing he had just eaten alot or does he have something else beside whitespot? They are currently just chillin in the hospital tank, still pretty stressed out. I plan to, as i have in the past, treat the ick by raising the temp, extra air and lost of vacuming, A trusted employee from another lfs recommended using wardleys ick away. thoughts?
A couple of pic from when i was transferring1b7ff530-a094-4107-8928-e43526e294ec.jpg 5286714e-8875-47fe-93ba-399d82b2d4fa.jpg c5ca8d9c-3973-4220-ae49-f2efb095faad.jpg e15d74c7-44d3-4620-99d8-dacb9637b261.jpg to new tank.

Try the heat method and watch. Loaches are sensitive to meds and salt. Could be why ur lfs guy had dead fish cause he was treating the cl's.

The belly don't seem to bloated from the pics. Keep an eye out.

Update. So the spotty loach has seemed to loose all his white spot, is eating and seems fine in the hospital tank. 4 striped loach however seems very stressed out, his withe spot seems worse and he hides behind the filter most of the time and i havent seen him eat. Wondering if i should use some meds? hospital tank is only 5 gal. Or would it be better to move my loaches in with my cichlids now? Was going to wait till they were clear of white spot but im thinking the small tank size is adding to the stress for 4 stripe

Nice puzzle oddball. When I had time, I used to hunt for oddball patterned clowns as they are very rare as large specimens. So you gotta grow out your own. My 2 favorite was a "V" patterned, both sides symmetrical clown loach and the 2nd one pictured below that I have grown out from 2".

Unfortunately the 4 striped loach didn't make it through the night. Shame. Before I went to bed last night he was starting to come out of hiding and explore his tank, thought he was making some progress. Woke up this morning and he was dead

888fish 888fish that odd ball is awesome, bet that took some searching to come across that! |Ive been out of the hobby for over 4 years. I used to have 6 loaches, 3 normal and 3 oddballs, a friend of mine still has them and i will be getting them back soon. Check out this video from about 5 years ago. All clowns are now over 6 inches, cant wait to get them back and continue my oddball colletion. So dissapointed my 4 stripe didnt make it.

Bigdotcom, I bought the twin of your loach today. A spot on the right side, blob on the left middle stripe. I'll try and get a pic to compare.

What is the most common stripe deformity in CL's?

ETA: here's 2 pics, hard to do when the fish just will not stop moving!!
