New AC20 filter and everything, thinking of using it for a quarantine or a feeder tank.

What would you suggest? If it's a quarantine, it would be uncycled wouldn't it? :(. I could put some feeders in there for my monsters, my convicts are still too young to breed.

use it for a quarantine tank for feeders. Rosy red. 30 of them.

I'm hoping you're not talking about rosy red barbs, I'm not spending $100 on feeder fish. What about just the little feeder goldfish, using it for a quarantine tank for that to let them sit for a week to make sure there's no ick or anything. Thoughts?

wow thats a nice deal. i usualy like all deals that end with the tank basically being $1 a gallon. or less :D i would use it for quarentine....nah i lie i would probably find something to put in thre :D:D:D but if u need it feeder/quarentine would be great.

rosy reds are like red minnows pretty much but small golds would be good also.medicate the nasty's for at least a week b4 feeding

I think small goldies is the easiest for me. My LFS's only carry feeder goldfish. What would you recommend medicating them with? Pouring some melafix in them, or what? I have 3 LFS around me, none carry rosy reds; all feeder goldfish.

Hah. I got some rosy reds in a 20L outside. Full of algae, leaf litter, and some aquatic plants from inside. Even in these cold temps now they are doing great. They were left over feeders from my Belonesox belizanus and I didn't want to kill them.

They are a Minnow and they are cheap. 3"-4" give or take.

For some reason, feeders gold fish are more pron to diseases then rosy reds. out of 200 gold fish, 50 lived the first month. and they were in a 125gal tank with the cleanest water they have ever had. As of now, i breed convicts for feeders. It's cheaper and i know if my show fish die from the feeders, i have failed as a fish keeper.

That's what I've heard, but I also don't have access to rosy reds. I have a 20g with some 1.5" Albino Convicts, waiting for them to pair off and breed.
