No surprise chicxulub is correct. This is a bagarius suchus aka crocodile Goonch catfish. He is a about 2 years old and is 12 inches long. The tile in my tank is 12x12 and he is as long as those. I just got him last Sunday from a buddy who tore his 125gallon down as he is moving to another state. He's been on feeders so far and has eaten tilapia. I'm going to try and get him feeding on nightcrawlers to make sure he's eating then try cuts of tilapia. Once he eats I'll be relieved.
This is my 3rd Goonch. I had a 30 inch hlg or llg I can't remember that I sold due to fear of bursting a panel. He went to a good home in northern Indiana into a what I recall around a 1000g tank with stingrays.
I had a bagarius suchus about a year ago as well and it was a dream come true but it turned into a nightmare as the tank got ich. I lost the suchus as well as 3 peacock bass. Still got 3 peacock bass(one cichla azul, two 24k kelberi) and I wanted redemption for my losses and jumped at this opportunity.
I'll get some fts.
The tank is a 220g glass with two fluval fx6 filters and a aquaclear 110 job along with some powerheads for movement. I have two 300w finnex titanium heaters. Tank is managed/controlled with a Neptune Systems Apex Classic tank controller.
I fed him last night for the first time right before going to bed. Put some cuts of tilapia in and there were all gone by morning. I'll grab a full tank shot later today
