Picked up a L-81 today

hello, so for the longest time i've been asking my LFS if they can get Gold nugget plecos in. i haven't been able to find any and the one i did was 85 bucks......so today i go in and i see they have these ones named Yellow Seam Pleco for like 40bucks, now i know GN go under like 3-4 diff L #'s on planetcatfish.com it does however state that the ones w/ the smaller spots are more hardy and if it's correct they don't get as large(7-8") as the real GN that can reach 12-14". sooooo my Q for you guys is.....is he a real GN or is yellow seam an appropriate name for him......this LFS is horrible w/ naming fish the real name. and none of the employees keep fish or know anything really it's sad i go in there and kinda make them look dumb, not tryin to but it's kinda sad.

nice, I just picked up two L81's sunday! I cant find one though now, I hope the Chaca Chaca cat didnt eat it and its just a good hider!
 
its called a gold nugget regardless. nice one u got there.
 
be careful with gold nuggets, since we cant provide them their natural food source. which is biofilm
 
so they are omnivorous?? he's attacking my drift wood and hasn't stoped rasping on it since i drip acclimated him. he doesn't mind the light at all.......my royal is more shy it seems.....but he is like 2-3x the size of King George the Brazilian Royal. so have any of you guys ever seen GN labeled as something other than GN???? nice steal if ya ask me he was the larger of 2 they had. they never get fancy plecos in ever i had to ask them befor they then got the mis-labeled ones hahaha i won't say a thing cuz they said the GN were like 75bucks......why would the same wholesaler have 2 diff prices on relativly the same species??? oh well my gain. next on the list is either a mango or a queen arabesque. so what do you mean be careful like not to starve them??? i had one years ago that would eat algea waffers and shrimp pellets....along w/ cucumbers and other fresh veggies. how is biofilm diff??
 
is there a price diff in the 2??? could you post some pics of the fish mabe? and i was told the L-18 are hard to keep alive is that true??? is the yellow color more or less vibrant in one or the other?
 
So how often can i feed him cucs and zuchs??? will one disc a day keep the algae monster away hahah he doesn't seem to touch the algae wafers much, i see him eat shrimp pellets if they land near him........oh BTW the brazilian died the other day. i saw him in the morn sittin on the heater then when i came home from work he was dead and the g nug was suckin on him.......i tested my water and every thing was within params....i'm kinda stumped what could have caused this

L-18 just have more orange on the fin and tail beside that spot is a bit less too. I don't find its hard to keep, as long as you have driftwood and zucchini for it. I have 2 L-18 in my tank with clown loaches and both is about 4" now they sure grow slow though. As for feeding just cut a slice of zucchini and stick it to a fork so it can sink and they will come for it.
