I went in to just pick up some blackworms, and well this is the second week this little guy has been in the tank the LFS had. Saw him last week, and really didnt need another ray, but today I felt sorry for him.
He was in a tank with small rocks, which I hate and he is thin.
So I talked the LFS guy (a great keeper, but more a saltwater man than freshwater) into a price I wanted to pay. Wife says it didnt matter about the money, I would have bought him anyway sooner or later..lol

So got him home, acclimated and now in his temp home till he is fatter and a 100%.

Not that we really needed another one. JUst felt sorry for the little guy. He is about 4 1/2" wide. Rt now he seems to be doing real good. Swimming all over his new tank and checking everything out. Wasnt going to start feeding till tomorrow to give him time to get use to his new area, but since Im only about 5 min from the LFS and he was not stressed to much in the move, he seems to be doing really good and I might give him a little blackworms tonight to see how he does...

Nice ray, need to get some weight on him though he does look a bit on the thin side. Maybe you could post some update pics in a couple of weeks to see how its getting on.

Thanks
I agree, he is thin. One big reason I picked him up.
Plus talking the LFS guy down to 75.00 bucks, I couldnt pass him up either. Got him for half of what he was asking for him.
I will post more picks as he gets along to keep all updated in a few weeks or so...

Sweet, nice to see its gone to a good home. I hate seeing rays in lfs that are waisting away like that, if i had the room i would do the same as you.

Well I have a full unfinished basement (man/fish cave) that is perfect for tanks. Has running water and a floor drain also, So easy to do water changes and cleaning. Plus have a few tanks up on the main floor. But the most important this is the wife loves them all. As long as she has her 75 gallon angel tank next to her chair in the living roon, she is happy. She will sit there for hours watching the angels, black ghost knife and the 3" indo dat we have in her tank and she is happy.
So that allows me to be able to do just about whatever I want. All my wife ever says when I pick up something is another one.. were are you going to put that one..lol
(another tank, any kind of fish, whatever) doesnt matter.

Man your so lucky i have 8x4x3 running what you call a drip feed system in the us. i call it a flow through system using ro. My wife has only ever shown interest in 3 types of fish i've kept redtail cat that is no longer with us  i/we now have tigers 15", 8" ST, 10" IT,2 RED HOOKS, 1 SILVER DOLLAR, 2 SPOTTED METYNIS and my rays of which 1 female due to have her first litter :headbang2

Well I would love to have that 8x4x3 tank.. that is what, just over 710 gallons...
You can see from my signature what I have Ray tank wise. The on top of that, we have 2X 75 gallon angel tanks (also one with a BGK, Indo Dat and some clown loaches), then a 65 tall community tank, 55 gallon community tank, 2X 40 gallon breeder tanks (one has Monos in it, other has baby angels), 8X 20 gallon long tanks for verious things I breed for food, and 20X 20 gallon tall tanks also for breeding verious things. Then I have a 20 gallon tall hospital tank.
But, my plans (already buying things to get it done) is in two corners of the basement, I want to build 2x 400 gallon ponds for the rays. But that will be another 4 or so months before I can get all that started..
