... in nice shape the other night. Don't have time just this second to set them up (don't know where I'm going to put them yet, even). I like the tank dimensions though at 36x18x18... large enough for a respectable fish or two, or for a small community with a heavy background.

I have a 200 right now with the following stock:

6" goldfish
5" oscar
7" BGK
9" Aro
12" Gibby
5" butterfly plec
2x 3" Blue Acaras
6x 3" clown loaches
4" ACF

I've also got a large crayfish in a bin in the garage with my feeders :p and a small 5g with a snail, dwarf frog, and some tetras.

I'm thinking of setting up one of the 50g's and putting the poor abused goldfish in there, with some fast breeding snails, and maybe some feeders - make it my cold water feeder tank. The other 50g, I may sell, or keep as a hospital tank, running on the same filter as the feeder tank to keep it cycled until it's needed. I'd hate to have an empty tank sitting around though, I might be tempted to start a new community... my acaras would look nice in a tank with a big gold nugget plec or something.

Anyone got some thoughts? I also thought about a puffer tank, because I like their personality, but I haven't decided yet. Thought about maybe trying salt as well, but I don't even know where to begin with salt :p

I also considered joining them to make a 6x18x18 tank btw ;) but I don't like those dimensions. IMO a 6' tank isn't worth it at only 18" deep, unless you're going to have a community tank. I'd much rather have a wide tank than a long one. If I'm going to put another big (100+) tank in this house, it's gotta be because of a smoking deal on a 6x2x2 or something ;)

50 breeders are nice tanks. A single stand for both of them (side by side) would make a nice display tank under a single hood. The extra depth opens up a lot of aquascaping possibilities, I'd recomend keeping them both.

side by side = 36"x36"x18"

That is an interesting idea. I don't have anywhere I could put that though. I could make a corner tank ;). Right now I just finished cleaning them out (they were already pretty clean, but I like to disinfect ;). I'm going to fill them up and let them sit for a while to be sure.
