Picked up an Emperor 280 yesterday and wow......and a question/help!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Man this thing is HUGE. Anyone else taken by surprise at its size?

Also, a question for 280 owners. At the very bottom, there looks like there is a hole with a nub of plastic broken off of it. Is that supposed to be there? I figure its where the filter was held onto the mold when it was made, but I have no idea... any ideas?

thanks
peace.

Also, on some images i see on the net, there looks to be viewing slots on the front cover, thin ones, like a few millimeter thick and an inch or two high, so you can see the bio-wheel, but on my cover, its solid - do i need to pop these slots out or something?

My 280 is the same way it doesn't have the viewing slots over the bio-wheel either. The little nub is just a manufacturing mark. Oh and yes they are quite big I realy like mine.

By the way, since the hinged hood sits so tightly to the output ramp, how the heck does the water flow out? Is it supposed to hit the lid, there seems to be such little room in that slot!!

Anyone know?
