Is that the same thing they sell at LFSs and Walmart and such as "Dragon Eel" or "Dragon fish"?

Awesome fish but I believe they need brackish water as adults.

i'm not too sure, iv never seen them at walmart but i believe those are their other common names

Yes, those do require brackish water. They don't need to be in pure saltwater as adults but they don't do very well in pure freshwater. Unless you can set up a separate tank for it meeting its correct conditions, I'd suggest returning it.

i do have aquarium salt at my disposal, i probably should have researched it more but the guy at the lfs failed to mention this to me, not a big deal i have no problem conversting my 90 into a brackish tank. this is definantly all quite new to me and this being my first brackish tank i'm pretty excited!

Aquarium salt won't make your water brackish.
