Picking Endli and Lifespan?

What would be the criteria you guys would use to choose a Endlicherri bichir?
would it be the dark or light markings? what to look out for?
also just curious how long is the lifespan for Bichirs?

A nice endli will have belly patterns and dark markings, amount of pattern varies and is up to the buyer. Also head shape is important, no frog eyes etc would be optimal. And bichir lifespan is easily 20+

i would for any of the bichirs look for the fattest biggest and most active. or an characteristics that you like on a bichir. i found a polypterus palmas buettikoferi that i swear has blue eyes. i call him killer caause he is so small and cute he looks mad with his head formation but he has those blue eyes and he is so small and skinny. lol. i'm trying to fatten him up he's wild caught so i don't think it will take long lol.

i just look for markings. Dark, thick, non-broken stripes.
