hey everyone i am picking my 8 inch golden cobra snakehead up next week, and just want to know if i have got everything right :)
at the minute my tank is 4.5 feet long x 3ft deep x 2.5 feet wide so its pretty deep, water temperature 21 degrees (room temperature) low lighting,
with sandy substrate, and 1 side of the tank heavily planted with a large mangrove root :) i have got 2 large filters running and 1, 600lph power head to keep the water moving a little bit, can anybody think of anything else ive missed or wants too give me any information on the snakehead im collecting :) thanks! in advance

i watched a program about them on tv in the states, invading local water ways and ponds, that wouldnt happen here in the uk, its to cold for them to live in our rivers, in winter water temp is down to below minus 10 last year, thick ice. Snake heads have had massive bad publicity in the states but i think there an amazing fish its just people releasing them into native ponds thats what went wrong. Thanks for your reply

Yea, irresponsible owners releasing them probably after they got to big for there tank, I love snakeheads did a bunch of research on them for a few days then to find out I couldn't get one :( probably be easier for meto catch one in the wild lol

they inhabit most of the states ponds and streams and with these snakeheads reproducing fast! There is plenty of them, there was reports of giant snakeheads attacking people but i think thats a load of rubbish, the reason they are illegal is they wipe out native species and all there food source, the same as the asian carp has done, it would never of been like that if people didnt introduce them in the beginning.
