So im picking up 2 rays tomorrow and i need to know what i need to bring them home for the 3 1/2 -4 hr trip home .. i was thinking about getting a plastic moving tub thing and just a large air stone ... anything more i should need?

anyone who has transported them over a similar distance want to chime in?

Thank you!!

Are you picking them up from shipping or from a lfs. The best way is to leave them in the bags you get them in. Do not open the bags at all, just check for them to be alive and close the box. If the shipper or lfs knows what they are doing then the rays can live 24-36 hours in the bags as long as they don't get to cold. Only mess with the rays if the bag is busted. In that case you need to find some distilled water and hope for the best until you get them home.

Large tub with sufficient space for air to diffuse should do fine. Keep them warm if it is cool where you are now.

its going to be 85+ outside .. and can i use something like this?

i have driven with rays in rubbermaid tubs for about 3 1/2 hours before. lots of water in the tubs, didn't use airstones, still have all the rays.

A tub would work, but me personally, I would bag them with half water and half air. Seal it up with zip ties or rubber bands and role out. Then you can get by with 4 gallons of water instead of 80 gallons.

is there a difference then putting 15 or 20 gal in a 50 gal tub then bagging them?

i just think it would be really easy to pick up a tub and be done with it ..

both my rays i have bought interstate, about 3 hours drive.
i have just bagged them with sufficient oxygen.

3-4 hours drive is fine dude. Think of the wild rays... how long they spend in transit.
