Picking Up Tiger Scats Soon

Hey all. Picking up my African Tiger Scats in two weeks!! WooHoo! I have begun cycling my tank for them, but everywhere I look I get different information about their water conditions. It is a give-in that they need slightly-hard to hard water conditions, but some say they are completely freshwater and others say completely brackish, AND some say they can do either. The scats I am purchasing are 5'' and coming from Lake Tanganyika, which, from my understanding, is completely freshwater. Any help would be GREAT. Thank you. James.
 
tetracanthus can be several fish.... you sure there scats???? the scats dont come from that lake...
