picking up

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
maybe for a little while. The only reason I say this is because the belly crawler is relatively inactive and lays on the bottom skipping along instead of cruising the tank like a bid bag Ven will.

So, if this is a temperary set up, I say they should be fine until the size difference warrants that the Ven needs a new tank or the belly crawler is a belly filler.

well i have two pikes on hold at work cause i cant pick wich one i want so i nees some feed back
1-ven
2-belly crawler
either one is going into my 50gal for now there both under 4in do you think i could put both?
A Venezuela, if male, has the potential to reach lengths in excess of 20". A Belly Crawler will do fine in a 50g for life - they max out at 8". Pick the one you can comfortably keep without detriment to the fish. You definitely can't put both in a 50g, even at that size.

thank you im plaining on getting a 125 or bigger in a few months when taxes come around would i need bigger for the ven.???

You should go with at least a 150g to be safe. 20" long Venezuelas are very rare though (but possible).

Very true, but like said, vens can possibly reach over 20 inches.....PP says a public aquarium has one at over 22 inches and they are rumored to reach 24 plus........

yeah, go with what PP said....I for one like how the Vens look and being that I plan on getting a 240 here in the future, i will gladly take the Ven off your hands.

Marms, cobras and lents are very, very nice though. Cincta are very nice as well.
