What do you use it for?
I could think of a ton of things to cook with the garlic juice, but no idea what you would use it for in a fish tank.

Garlic strengthens the fish's immune system similar to the way it is said to boost the human immune system. It also for some reason appeals to the fish so people use it a lot with fish that are not eating.

Pickling Lime is the same thing as Kalkwasser which is just a strong solution of calcium which helps out reef tanks.

I was just posting this for all the noob reef guys/gals that are spending their $$ at LFS's buying store brandnames when they can get it a lot cheaper elsewhere..... I guess not many of us reef ppl here though so oh well.

MMM garlic dills lol
Kidding great Idea to save money over fish products. I use fresh garlic in my homemade fishfood but the juice would be great for soaking pellet food Ill try it thanks!
Ill use the pickling lime if I ever run out of aragamilk got a case at auction for a dollar.

i understand the garlic but i've just been using the leftover juice from the crushed garlic (we're italians so we have alot on hand :D) but i didn't know about the pickeling lime.. what is it's chem. composition?

Here is the chem composition for you BIG:

97.4% Ca (OH)2
1.8% Ca03
1% Magnesium & Alkali Salts
.4% Acid Insoluble Substances
.02% CaS04
.03% Fe203
.2% Al203
.01% C02

hm... the only things i'd be even remotely worried about would be the 'acid insoluble substances' te iron and aluminum.. how long have you been using this stuff?
