one of the jaguar cichlids that i've got is a very picky eater ,i normally feed NLS sinking pellets and he will only eat the odd pellet every now and then ,i've tried bloodworms and he loves them but i don't want him getting hooked on them so i haven't given him them in over a month but he is still not eating very well.
if i feed the fish as normal he won't get anything to eat as the other jags grab all the food, the only way i can feed him is to make sure a couple of pellets go next to his cave.
the fish looks very healthy and the colour is good, anyone had a fish like this.

My jag hated/ hates pellets. After he gets hungry though it doesn't matter, he eats them. It'll be the same with yours. My jag LOVES fish, night crawlers, wax worms, blood worms and shrimp. Sometimes after he eats pellets ill give him a quick worm that night, but it's just for fun.

My Jag eats almost every day once..but however is picky...I have a method which he eats blood worms shrimp and NLS pellets consistently...the picky part is that he will not eat pellets by themselves.. I have to cut a space in and stuff them in shrimp... 2 6mm pellets in 3/4 of a med thawed shrimp...i put about a third of a cube of bloodworms in as well.. I don't give him a whole medium shrimp because he has to get it all down almost at once...Sounds like a recipe from his own personal chef... I have not made an all out effort to get him straight on pellets alone so I realize it's my fault my jag is spoiled:)...

he was eating NLS when i first got him and after i used bloodworms he started to refuse pellets so i stopped and have only used pellets for the last month.
