So my 3" jar is a very picky eater, only eating bloodworms or crickets and seeing as bloodworms are so low protein, are crickets gutloaded with flake an ok diet at least until it's large enough to be starved onto pellets.

It only 3" long, too small to be starving for that long.

try small earth worms only bad thing if he doesnt grab it right away you have to stick your hand in to retreave the worm and chance scaring him, thats what i did on my small jar he is now 14inchesand now takes shrimp freeze dried krill and sometimes stics but really doesnt like them the hikari sticks i mean.

i have a 3" jardini right now n he's eating bloodworms, crickets, and hikari sticks. took mine about a day of starving to get on the sticks. make sure u break the stick small enough for him to eat

Live in Canada where the ground is frozen, the only ones I can buy at bait shops are huge nightcrawlers
