and because I got my camera back. Since the ATF died(mudered) and I sold my loaches the tank is looking bare.

The ornate bichir is pushing 14" now, but will be out tomorrow as I have a trade pending for her. The mundi is growing FAST and is quite the character. The indo is looking lovely as always. Im concerned about my payara though. He has a sore on his snout and has some sort of parasite on his eye. Any suggestions for treating it?

Oh and these are the first pics of my tank since Ive added sand and painted the background. What yall think?

Awesome! You should be bored more often, for the benefit of the forum.:D

Man, that payara is looking awesome. I've said it before, but I'm glad it found it's way into your tank.

Nice mundi.. he told me one day he is gonna eat everyone else.. lol

Seriously looks good though.

Thanks guys.

The payara is doing great. The sore is no big deal and Im not too worried about the parasite. Ive up the temp to 84=5*F and added (lol my cure for everything) and if it isnt gone in a few days Ill attempt something else. I just wish I could get him on prepared foods. Even though I get feeders for like 5 cents a piece (working at a LFS has some perks) I am still worried about potential problems. I must admit though, the payara is THE BEST looking payara I have ever seen!!

Tomorrow Im meeting up with a fellow member in Nashvegas and should be bringing back a couple of goodies!

Oh I know the mundi is going to get big. He has a LONG way to before have can eat the payara or dat. Even the fire eel has a quite impressive growth rate. He came in from our wholesaler as a silver datnoid. :screwy: but I decided to take him home any way. In about 6 months Im planning on a barramundi fish fry!

Poor mundi.. :( But at least you have a plan I guess.. :)

I dont feel bad as they are a food fish and commercially raised for that reason!

My friend is a biologist that works with fish farms and he said hed rather eat a fish from one of my tanks then the nasty fish farms so I guess its safe!

For a perch and ambush preds in general he is pretty outgoing though so lets hope I dont get attached.
