Just some pics from our camping trip.. We took a hike and did a ton of fishing.. Caught a bunch of "red eyes" (rock bass), green sunfish, creek chubs and a few SMB. I caught this one channel catfish which is odd as it's the first one I've caught in this area. A few years ago I caught a baby flathead as well. Hopefully I'll start to catch their parents :D

I saw the resident giant snapping turtle again this year. I caught him 2 years ago and had to cut the line, I'm not exaggerating when I say his shell has to be close to 2 feet long. The guy is huge. I have pics from when I caught him a couple years ago, I'll see if I can find them. How large do snapping turtles get??

I was wading and came across this little guy, anyone know what kind he is? My daughter wanted to keep him but we set him free.

Yes they did. They aren't crazy about the poison oak they brought home with them but it's only a minor set back :D

its a musk turtle or stink pot.

cool chub. any more pics of it?

Sounds like a nice trip. As for the snappers, I've seen 2 very large specimens, both from the Ohio River. One was on display at the state fair, its shell was about 4 feet long, the other was still in the river right off the bank while I was fishing and it's shell was about 5 feet long. The larger one is just a guess but I know it was bigger than the one on display. They both had heads larger than mine!
