Here is the recently added 7 inch bluegill named "Big Blue." It looks like an oscar or pacu sometimes when it peeks from under the biggest limb in the tank. All you see is eyes, nose and aqua blue. It moves very fast and is still shy.
It's funny you mention the Oscar thing as they will act like native Oscars when they settle in!Keeping these ultra-hardy natives can be quite rewarding in terms of behavior observation and how much they act like cichlids.
Thanks Dream-faw. I joked that you and I kept the same hours, I never looked to see where you are located. Now wonder I see you around the same time, I am a night owl. I stay up realy late. It's 4:41 here. I have to sleep for 1 or 2 hours, then go to work for 9 ;0
Now that's amazing gar man!!!! So far my small bluegills were 2 1/2 inches now they are 4 inches!! Now I have a tiny green sunfish, that I will post pics of later. So it is going to be fun raising it.
