He use to.... Learned quickly that he doesn't play well with others..... He is all alone in a 50 gal right now. He is pretty aggressive. Thought about trying him with my severum but scared to. Any suggestions on tankmates?

I had to split up my 6" J.D. from my Oscar and Sev ( of similiar size)as he found them to be competition and was hell bent on being boss. However he's now in a 75g with a 7" leporinus and a 5"blood parrot that I inherited and they get along just fine.He's also done well with a large male convict and a big pleco. Good luck.

Thanks! Him and my palembang puffer are my 2 favorites. Anyone else have older JD's they can post pics of so I can check them out? Wondering if they get much bigger than this....

WHen I was growing up my uncle had an 8 year old JD that was almost 11". The only reason I remember this is because he always used to tell me whenever I tried to act "grown-up" that he had a fish as old as me. He had coloration similar to yours, though no specks on the face.
