Some of you requested some updated pics so here they are! This were taken from my cell phone so my zooming was limited and FYI LMB are camera shy.

Do you have specs on your tank or a whole tank picture?

I'm in the process of putting together a tank for a LMB and would appreciate the input. Thanks!

I'm no pro by any means but the more I read the happier my fish get.

I have a 60 gal tank with 3 3-4" LMB and 1 sucker fish 3". I have sand as a base, a store bought under water tree with cave, and about 9 plastic tall to medium plant. Also a live plant on drift wood. I use the cascade 1000 canister filter.

I do weekly water level checks and water changes (25%) and bi-weekly filter washes. I also add liquid plant food weekly.

This is a very temp set up as these bass have already about out-grown this 60 gal in about a month. I have a 150 gal on the way but even that will be bumped up to a 300 to 600 gal after just a few months. THE BIGGER THE BETTER!

I find that the more plants / cover you provide as well as a large selection of food makes very happy LMB. They also really enjoy any live plants as well as realistic decor.

The 3 biggest things I see that are very important is (in order)

1 - Water quality
2 - Tank Size
3 - Healthy Food

The better you can provide these 3 things the happier LMB you will have.

The pro's on here will correct me if any thing I said is false or missing any thing but as yourself I am a beginner and in just a month or so I have had the privilege of learning allot of useful information.

FYI - If in question ask on this site. There is a TON of VERY VERY knowledgeable fish keepers here.

Hope this helps!

Thomas -

if you plan on keeping those 3 bass all the way through their lifespans, i suggest skip the 150 and 300 and just get the 600 now!

Yeah, I'd have to agree. From what I've found during my research, a 300 gallon tank seems to be about the minimum size for one full grown LMB, let alone 3...

I agree and as fast as these are growing I may have to. The 150 is already in the workings so I will need to plan for the 600 now
