Got this 46 gallon bowfront for 66 dollars. It came w/tank, stand, hood, lights, fake coral, 2 biowheel filters, thermometer, and other lava rock. Anyways, I figured I would try my luck with salt. Tank has been running for over 2 weeks now, and im doing a fish cycle w/damsels. Here are some shots.

Tank when I first got it...

Future plans for the tank (1-2 months from now) are either:

1 - Tomato Clown
1 - Bicolor Angel
3 - Green Chromis

or

1 - Maroon Clown or Bicolor Angel
1 - Snowflake Moray Eel

or

1 - True Percula Clown
1 - Male Anthia (not sure what kind yet)
2 - Female Anthia's

The thing that sucks is the more I research my options, the more I realize what I can't have. The maroon clowns are mean SOB's, and apparantly both the Anthia's and the Bicolor Angels don't do too well in captivity. I'll keep you all updated regardless. I will also be posting pictures of my "coolest looking oscars ever" soon as I promised to do monthly.

It looks good, but you really should ditch the filters, get 50 lbs of live rock, and put it in a sump, or canister, and a protein skimmer. This will make your system much healthier.

if your gonna go dwarf angels i'd go dwarf flame angels they are just my personal favorite......

I have been seriously thinking about getting live rock. I really love the way the Drs. Foster & Smith Select Lalo Live Rock looks, and its only $4 a pound before shipping. Ive also been thinking about a skimmer, but I think I am going to see how things go without one. If water quality becomes a problem then I will get one.

that sounds like an awesome deal...good steal, and i love the damsel!

Agreed, however make sure if you do a transition to sump or canister, you do it properly and systematically, especially with that pretty damsel in there;) .

Judging by the great looking tank and presentation of actual water monitoring materials in your pics, I am sure you know what you are doing. Great job!!!

yeah what are ya' showing off your params or something? haha

nice set up i would at least put SOME live rock in there. i wouldn't put any number of anthias in that tank.they usually need way bigger tanks (like 125) and EXCELLENT water (not that im doubting you abilities, there'sjust a lot of fluctuation in new tanks)
the eel would be a good idea but maybe not with the clown.
good luck, that tank has some serious potential!

as for dwarf angels,
i'd do an eibli's or a coral beauty.
just IMO
