I bought this Goonch in August last year bought as a dwarf goonch Bagarious Bagarious. I appreciate probably neith a dwarf goonch or bagarius bagarius. Even though it rarely moves I love the thing aways admiring the look of them in videos and on here.

The most voracious eater I've ever seen when food of any size is within an inch of his mouth

I took him out to measure ( not something I would normally do) he was 17cm when I got him and already 23 cm

Love this cat I do

just a bump to see if anyone in the know can tell what type he is from these pretty crappy pics ! :)

Good looking goonch.I don't have any catfish currently but when I did have a few I would often observe them with a flashlight in the dark of night.

There's 5-8 different species; size varies immensely between some of them. Rather important for one to know what species their fish may be, for care may be subpar if said fish is different from what the keeper surmised.
I can't tell if he was serious or joking with that reply....

I lust after one of these...but...the confusion is strong in me. :)

A Canadian retailer had some recently, listed as B.yarelli. Old classification system? New one? Trustworthy? Fanciful? Who knows? :)

In the old naming we would ID as b. Sp Indochina which they have now removed so in the new naming he is b. Lica.
Oval eyes, slightly upturned fins, more cylindrical (chunky) body, darker patterning all over including fins.
Thats really useful thanks I have good read up now and yes it does resemble the Lica
