ok here is a picture of my baby Common Boa he or i think its a he though not been probed , i was told you can tell by the tail is that right?
hes about 4 months old and hes my first snake
He's so cute hope you like him

Well I hope you knew that this snake can get very large and potentionaly dangerous. You can tell by the tail but that poves sometimes unriliable. Once you snake is larger, you will notice if it has large or small anal spurs. If they are large, then its a male. Probing is the most reliable way.

has any one heard of sexing with a pice of string tyed to a ring??????i ask this because i over herd a converstion in a pet shop,,his bloke said he could sex any animal be it bird or snake with a pice of string and a ring ,,,if it spins one way its a male,,,,you get the driffed .he also said that in 30 years he has never been wrong off topic i know

wow sounds far out so how does he do it again ill try it i know the sex of my snake and monitor so i would love to try it and see if it works

what he said was if you are a man and you tiy your ring to a pice of string and hold it over the snake it will rotate in one direction for male ,, but if you are a woman and use your (hers) own ring it will rotate in the other direction

he said it was to do with hormones from the ring reacting with the hormones of the snake
