I just purchased two 480 gallon tanks and a 100 gallon tank as part of my basement finishing project. The tanks arrived on 5-11-06 after about an 8 week wait (it was worth it, Norm and crew at Innovative Plastics did a fantastic job). I immediately setup the first 480 for my freshwater rays. I already had the stand built, except for the cutouts/supports around the overflow drains. I got done around 4am. The 480's are 8x4x2 and will sit next to eachother so there is a 16 foot wall of fish. I'm going to make the tanks be the wall of one side of my basement. There is a 3 foot wide hallway running behind the tanks for access/maintenance. The 100 gallon tank is for my wife's reef tank. Her fish are currently in a 75 gallon tank set on the bottom of the stand for my old 300 gallon (tank for sale, by the way). The 100 is built into another wall of my basement. It is 5x1.5x1.5. I hope to have that up tomorrow, once the 75 is out of the way, I can convert the 300 gallon stand to hold the 2nd 480 that will house my saltwater sharks and hopefully some more rays (lost my blue dots to a circuit breaker trip). The fresh 480 is running two mag drive 3600's that pump about 2400 gph at the height they are going. There is a mag drive 700 running a 36 watt Coralife UV sterlizer and a mag drive 1800 in the sump pumping water through a bio ball tower that is a 32 gallon trash can filled with bio balls. The saltwater 480 will be the same when it is up, with the addition of a protein skimmer. I am also considering fluidized bed filters on both systems. The sumps are 100 gallon rubbermaid tubs. Here's some pics......The close up of the one stingray is my pregnant motoro......should have pups in about 10 days.
