The tank is a 90gal - the lights are 4 110watt VHOs (T12 bulbs) 2 actinic 2 super white -- the white vhos throw off a bit of a pink hue -- next tank im gonna do 2x250 MH plus the VHOs (all actinic) probably a 120 or 150h (definately need the extra width, it is hard to aquascape in an 18inch wide tank)

the care requirements for a reef tank compared to keeping monster fish is more or less the same, except i do a lot more algae scraping on my reef tank, but i also do bigger and more frequent water changes for big fish - so its sort of a trade off
the difference is probably the cost - equipment and especially livestock are much more costly -- like keeping monster fish - reefkeeping becomes addicting
