On the Rio Araguaia, I wish...
Here are a couple pics of the new Tem's I picked up over the weekend and some pics of my baby Rotkeil's, the ornate, and a half shot of the irwini. Enjoy ~Trent

The last pic is a teaser I just set up. Yes I know its ghetto, but its very functional and thats what matters. A little over 1100 gallons :) already looks alot different, and I"ll post some more pics later this week in the pond forum. Current stock is 10 sunfish/bluegill to start cycling it.

tht pond for the electric eel lol

They are baby temensis I believe, based on other tem's I've seen and labeled as such. I wish I knew if they were farm bred or wild caught though.

The pond is for my south american fish to grow into as the 240 gallon becomes to small. The most immediate residents after its cycled and I get some real filtration on there are my TSN which is pushing 16-17" and my Planiceps which is around 14" and possibly my Lima Shovelnose which is about 11".

The cichla monoculus I have in the 240 are staying put for a while until they are to big for the 240 at which time I plan on moving them into the pond. They are currently all around 12". The litle temensis are growing out in my 55 gallon and when the big bass are moved are going to be moved into the 240 to continue growing out. In a couple months I'll be adding several more cichla to growout either in the 240 or the 55 hopefully a couple piquiti araguaia and definately some cichla lower amazonas and maybe another variety of temensis.

The only filtration on it right now is the 550ish gph pump that it came with, hence why my "real" fish are staying in the tanks and not in the pond at the moment. I have to wait about a month before I can afford the real filtration but the plans are to run 2 Tetra 4000 model filters each flowing about 2000-2500gph and probably dual 1000watt Titanium Heaters with some DIY heater guards to protect both the pond itself and the future inhabitants ;)

I'm putting the sand in right now its Leslies pool filter sand, I got 200lbs to begin with and it looks like I'm going to need probably 150lbs more to make it look right, I'll post some pics in the pond forum when I get done adding it tonight so check there for all further pond updates ~Trent

Looking forward to see more pic about your pond when it is up and running. Awesome fish you have.
