Just picked her up Saturday. She is about 7"+ ruff guess on size. Going to be pairing her up with my large proven Blue Diamond aka Thai Silk male. Just waiting on my female fader SRD to lay her eggs and then moving fader and eggs to a tank if her own. Then I will try and introduce the new silk to my male silk. She has a bit of a temper and I'm a little worried about my large male He is very submissive to females.

If they can't cohab in the 75 I may need to reseal my 200 and try in that. I'm not a big fan of breeding with dividers but will do if all else fails. Let me know what you all think about her. She seems a little thin rite now and she came from a local breeder so I'm going to power feed over the next week and get her ready to breed.

She is a good fish. Your male is nice and a good fish too. Take good care of them because silks are sensitive and they look nice.
 
I know how sensitive they are. My male I have had since he was 1" and rite now I have had him a year and a half. Big blue is my baby and he eats better than me sometimes. I have well over $200 in food just for my Flowerhorns and there diet is varied. I have been in the hobby for quite some time and did a lot of research on silks before I ever got him. Didn't look like much at 1" but he turned into a awesome beast.

I am looking to introduce the female around the end of the month when I have a day off to see how they do together. Don't want to take any chances with these too.
 
I like that male.

I have one too. My 7th Silk. Actually I forgot to mention that some can be healthy and HARDY.
 
Mine is very healthy but about a year ago he was pretty sick. Think he had internal parasites but treated with Prazi Pro and he has been great since.

Plus he is fertile and that's rare in male Silks. I have been working on breeding him with my fader SRD. They just love to eat the eggs after 48hrs. Had 2 fertilized spawns out of 6 and figured out I had to much current in the tank. Switched to 2 sponge and a fluval 403 with a home made spray bar. But now they just need to stop munching on there own eggs.

Is there a thread for pics of members silks? Would love to see everyone's fish. Haven't found to many pics of males as nice as mine but I know they are out there.

Both very nice looking fish. I love it when they are young. I will post some old pics of when my guy was a little ol thing. I do have some baby pics saved from when he was under 2"
