Here is the best picture I was able to get of Sprocket the freshwater toadfish.

I don't want to stress her out by taking her out again, but really don't know a way to get a good picture.

Hope this will help in identifying her.

She ate today, which I hope means she'll be ok. I tested the specific gravity of their water, and it didn't even register (the same as when I put freshwater in it.) The SG of the tank she's in now is not even quite 1.012, but still much more than the tank she was living in.

Man, that tank stunk to high heaven. It's air drying and we had to repair a crack in the top frame, so there are no fish in it yet. I'm making my own lids for the tank, since there's also an eel in the tank, who I don't want to lose to an unfortunate accident!

Miguel, is this picture good enough to help in identification? What in particular should I try to get a picture of for identification purposes?

Sprocket is an awesome name for a toadfish. As for ID I'm not sure but I have one that is in fresh water(was in fresh water when I bought him) with no issues. Yours looks like mine ;). Here's a couple pics of mine.

Thanks for the pics, Chris! I like eels too, and yours is more than welcome in my thread!

Eventually, I plan on raising the SG to ~1.018-1.020 to see how that goes. I have Sprocket and a G. tiles (snowflake eel) in the 55 gallon (long.) Someone told me I should get a dwarf lionfish, but I think I like just these two bottom dwellers for it!

Sprocket is the name that she came with from previous owners. He's a big fan of Toad the Wet Sprocket (band.) I'm keeping the name, but not for the same reason...I think she looks kind of like the dog from Fraggle Rock named Sprocket!

She ate a big piece of gel food after the tiny peice of krill. It has salmon, anchovies, sardines and some veggies. She blew some out of her gills, but that's to be expected, my angelfish do the same thing, but love the gelfood all the same! I'm really glad to have her now. The tank she was in was NASTY! He like, never changed the water. It took a long time to get the tank to stop smelling like dirty fishy poopy water (125g that I bought)

I set up the 55 gallon the day before, and had it running with bubblers and heaters to dissolve the salt. When I got the fish here, I took all the biomedia from the sump in their old tank, and filled up a Fluval 405 and stuck that on the tank as well.

Both fish have eaten today, and when I woke up, Sprocket was actually chillin' in the middle of the tank where I could see her. The eel doesn't run away from me when I approach the glass either. (The previous owners said he always hid, and ran when they came to the glass...it was probably the nasty water they were in that made him stressed.)

I love fraggle rock :D!!! It's nice to hear that sprocket and the eel went to you. You'll take proper care of them. I know all about buying rank tanks--lol.. My 150 gallon was stored in a barn at a farm for 3 years before I bought it. It took four days to get the barn smell and the goose poop out of the tank. The work was worth it though--$100 for the tank + stand. Here's the pic I meant to post earlier and a pic of the 150g after I set it up.
