I am trying to ID the sex of my P. Socolofi so I had to get some pictures lol if you can help by all means tell me what YOU think it is

nice fish. the socolofi is a male! And from the looks of it, you dont have a hybrid. Juvenile johanni and females are yellow/orange and the males are black and blue. he may be just transitioning, which would explain the odd colors that show in one of the pictures (slight hue of blue)

I know what the males and females look like, but my fish is getting darker and darker and is so much different looking than the females.. It is acting male, and isnt really turning blue at all. It had a blue hue to its top fin but thats almost gone. The stripes are now getting super dark brown. It doesnt look like a johanni female really and the face is really different.

Thats what I was thinking and when I first got it thats what people told me it was.. Maybe its a mix of the two? I figured the Soc was male, he really acts like one, him and the johanni/auratus go at it like nothing else, neither pay much attention to the female OB
