My friend and I always see fish and tanks in fish stores and can't believe the pet shops will put them on display. Whenever we see this we take pictures and send them to each other. I was wondering if anyone else has any disturbing pictures for the pet shops. Here are a couple of mine. Many of my "best" pictures and videos are on my old phone but here are a couple I snapped today at Petland Discounts (which the majority of my pictures are from).

I can't find the pictures but I have some here somewhere from my local petsmart. 400 rosy reds circulating around dead in the 15 gallon setups... same with the 150 or so goldfish... and most every other fish was put in a ridiculous enclosure( for instance, eight 6 inch koi in tank with dimensions of a foot long by a foot and a half wide. Everything there dies soon after arriving, I'm so glad I work at my LFS where we actually take care of every fishes needs. Going to places like that makes me sick on so many levels.

Thats horrible! why would the pet stores allow this?? fire the person responsible...

Well theyre not exactly abusing the fish. Neglect? Probably. Fish get sick and die, not treating them or removing them is wrong though. That oscar had velvet, could have been easily treated.

my local lfs is a lot worse but the price is hard to beat. however compared to your photo at least your had room for the fish to swim around the one i go to is cramp in a 8 feet long tank about 1 foot in width but each foot had a divider to house several species but they all share the same water so those sick or dead fish can contaminated other fishs.

I would take pictures but there is cameras + no photo allowed.

There is only one LFS near me with nasty aquariums. They are REALLY dirty. The only reason that the fish are alive is beacause they only sell hardy fish. All of the petsmarts and petcos near me have OK looking aquariums and have healthy fish.
