:WHOA:I am posting pictures of my two tanks. One is a 40 gallon tall tank which is setup as a community tank with:3 platys, 2 goramis, 4 neon tetras, 1 chenese algea eater, 2 swordtails. The other tank is my 50 gallon diamond shaped tank. It is a somewhat of a predator tank and my first try at aquascaping with a natural river or lake theme it has:2 Pictus catfish, 2 i.d. sharks, and 2 needlenose gars which I just added so the pictures do not include them. Checkout the pictures and tell me what you think of my 50 gallon aquascape. Send me your ideas on how I may change it for the better, thanks.

well id sharks get MASSIVE
and i saw 2 columbian sharks that need marine when mature and not to sure about the needle nose gars i'll need to see a pic to id them

and i'm gonna need all your stock because i see pictures of fish you didn't mention

Toaker I would look at the types of fish you have, see where they are from and their max sizes. Some fish do well with other from the same area...thats not always true, but they may need special perameters while others may need something different. Also with max size on some fish they may not be suited to be homed in your tanks for life. Also the way your tank looks, is totally up to you.

I know I will need bigger tank for the gar and the id sharks, i am looking into gettting hopefully a 125 gallon within the next few weeks, the columbians I heard need brackish tank when they get bigger I already have a 55 gallon for them when they get bigger, this tank is basically my first predator tank, and my first try at aquascaping. I want your ideas for when I setup my 55 for the columbians, and the 125 for the gar fish on how you think the natural look of this tank is, so I can start to setup and cycle the 55 and so on. thank you for your ideas and quick reply, there is a lot of information on this website to help me out. But I also like constructive criticism for the members so i do everything right in the next tanks. i will be posting pictures within the next day or so of the gar fish. Thanks again for all your information you have given me.

Columbian sharks are some of my favorite fish. I bought mine as fresh juveniles and then coverted to brackish and full marine. Enjoy them, but as stated earlier they will our grow the 55. If they are not eventually put into brackish/salt conditions they will develop skin disorders and possibly deformities.
