I've been posting a lot of questions on here and getting good answers from the community. Thanks everyone. Some people have requested pictures of my tanks so I'll upload the random snapshots I've taken on my phone. I'm gonna post some videos on youtube and I'll link that later.

I use a little co2 thing from petsmart that's meant for smaller tanks but I don't know if it really does anything or not. I use excel.

I don't use CO2 and have play sand and my plants grow hair algae but I have too much light. Ohhhh well

if you use excel it will get rid of the hair algea in a matter of days

Egh, I did use at for a time but no luck really. I have a HOB that creates a good splash and gasses off most the CO2. Sand also sucks as a substrate

Yeah my HOB does the same thing. Mine is half sand and half flourite.
