These occur naturally... they are M.Zebras and Ob Feulleborni... the ob hybrids are peacocks...Marius;2910909; said:As mentioned, as a mirror to the hybrid thread, it would be nice to have a database of pure species. There are a lot of OB fish in the wild: Metriaclima species, Labeotropheus and so on.
look in lake malawi photos in hard cover book Malawi Cicklids in their natural habitat 3rd edition......by AD Konings..and yes their are alot of pure bred OB in the wild...Red Devil;2911109; said:These occur naturally... they are M.Zebras and Ob Feulleborni... the ob hybrids are peacocks...![]()

Do the males from the 2 different species you have get along fairly well? are there females in with them?Red Devil;2911109; said:These occur naturally... they are M.Zebras and Ob Feulleborni... the ob hybrids are peacocks...![]()
i have male zebras and male venustus together and also other younger males of other origins and younger females.. and every one gets along great.. and yes there are also adult female zebras and adult female venustus.. i did not put the fuelleborni in with them ..since she is the only one i have and want her to grow up and breed with my male fuelleborni some day.. so she is in with angels and yellow labs growing out.. and the male fuelleborni is by him self with angels, clown knife and severums... he is huge.. 7 inches.... on rare occasion through the years.. three times i had to rescue a fish that was being picked on.. and place it elsewhere until it recovered.. usually the reason is it is aggressive and couldn't not take the aggressiveness back and lost the battle.. or it was an old fish.. i have a few seniors.. that eventually get picked on because they are slow.. but i have the tank somewhat crowded and due to that there is very little problems if any,... but that requires very strigent water changes...greenearthlawns;2911143; said:Do the males from the 2 different species you have get along fairly well? are there females in with them?
