i finally got my hands on a male red tiger mota and my pair is now complete! i am keeping them separated using a divider so they don't tear each other to pieces. the male is like a teenager - hungry ALL the time! i can literally sit in front of the tank and toss him krill, pellets and whatever and he will eat till his stomache looks like it will burst! the female is about 1/4 inch larger and is bulkier and nastier based on my experience so he needs to bulk up a bit before i try and put them together.

the other fish is my amphilophus altifrons (no, it is not a geophagus... TRUST ME :D ;) ) and there's my jaguar cichlid juvenile looking for ants to pounce on

Awesome fish. That is on my want list, but I have never seen one at the store.

mmmmm... are you asking me how long they have been together? it's been about a week since i got the male so it's around that time that they've shared a tank.
they should be from completely separate blood lines, but i mean you never know.
yeah only time will tell if they are compatible. i like the male a lot because he has very nice fins and overall in great shape. :)

it took me over 2 months to find my female and over 4 to find this male. i won this male at a local fish club auction for dirt cheap... like not even funny kind of cheap. i was SOOOOOOO happy :D

check out the local fish clubs - there may be people out there who have it and you don't even know it.
