I am relatively new to catfish keeping, so go easy. I imagine this question has been asked numerous times, but i couldn't find a thread. So here goes!

What is the maximum size for a pictus cat? I have read many different maximum sizes ranging from 4"-12" i figured it would be around 6". But i would like confirmation before purchasing.

Also, i would like to see pictures too! :D

Thanks.

I don't really have any pics, but I know they get between 8 and 10 inches pretty much absolute maximum. A spotted pictus is more active than the 4 line pim. They are fairly pleasent catfish. The only thing is that any fish that can fit in their mouths will probably be gone fairly fast. They are really cool fish though. And they will eat just about anything. They are fairly easy to feed, and I'm guessing a 75 to 125 or somewhere inbetween would be more than enough for a full grown catfish.

I have one pictus, 6 inch currently and likely maxed out. Loves thawed bloodworms and brine shrimp, oh and whatever fish is slowest when he gets hungry lol.

Also don't use common nets when moving, including advising whomever retrieves your fish at the LFS or where purchased as their barbs will become trapped and injure them.
