G'day guys and gals.
Yeah you could probably judge from the introduction I need your help, and by judging from the title, is about my Pictus Catfish and it's barbels and fins.
Recently my tank needed a top up, so I did a water change. The water was cloudy right afterwards, so left it bare of the decor I pulled out. The tank has CA cichlids and Rift valley cichlids. To be exact, 2 GTs at 2", 2 cons at 2", one venustus at 4 1/2" one blue peacock at 5" and one blue cobalt at 4". The day after the water change it was still cloudy so decied to leave the aquascape one more day. When I did do the aquascape, and the water cleared up I noticed the pictus cats tail appeared slightly chewed. I didn't think much of it, after all, cichlids will be cichlids. But today I noticed that the barbels seemed worn off, they are at 2", from the previous 4-5" I don't want them to reside totally and never come back, but wouldn't be distraught if they didn't get bigger than 2". Could anyone give any pointers. I am fearing that in might not have been the cichlids attaching the tail. I fear it may be fin and barbel rot. can anyone help at all?
Hugely appriciated. Eric.
