Heya, I've Been researching pictus catfish alot, and i've finally got around and ordered them from my LFS (they didn't have any in) so now i'm starting to have a bit of a worry, that the research won't be enough.
any obscure things i should know about them?
Already know not to net, they are predators and jumpers, other then that anything to watch out for.
and one thing i can't find is specific diet requirements, i just get told they'll eat anything. Basically Should i be feeding them higher levels of protein or lower, thanks for reading :)

I've never kept them before but this is what I learned when I was thinking about picking up a few. They will never stop moving, so the bottom of your tank will be busy. They don't get very big. You can just feed them a simple sinking carnivore pellet and they will also eat left over food. What I do for my channel cat is feed him a sinking pellet or two every 3-4 days and he just eats the left over food. I feed a little heavier than usual because it gives him and my bichir something to eat.

I would avoid feeding to the point that the bellies bloat up, as they seem as if they won't stop eating as long as food is present

My pictus ate anything, I mainly fed spirulina algae wafers and flake. I also gave blood worms, black worms as treats. The above statement is very true, they'll eat until their stomach is bulging a lot. Mine seemed to love my airstone circle, he would swim in it all the time.
