Would a pictus cat do ok in a tank with a gold saum and silver dollars? The G.S is only 4.5" right now and the SD's are about 3". The tank is a 55 for now. I am going to upgrade to a 75 in the next few weeks, unless I decide to go for a 125. The pictus wouldn't be going in until I get a larger tank. I just wonder how well they would do with the cichlid.

not sure how compatible they are with the gold saum, but they are certainly fine with the sd's and they would be fine in a 55, they only get to be about 5-6" and they are very active cats, they are out during the day, which is a nice thing to find in a cat :D

Well my gold saum never chases anyone around. Not yet at least. The tank is a little overstocked at the moment so that may be cutting down on the aggression (or the jag that chases him around maybe...)

Pictus should do fine with a Gold Saum (as long as he's not a maniac!) but the jag would be a problem with that big basket mouth.

pictus are crazy. i got one and he goes insane when its feeding time lol

The jag will be going into a tank for just him and the pleco eventually. Right now he's only about 4" long and is well behaved towards everyone but the gold saum. Last night he even moved the senegal bichir out of his hiding spot by swimming under it and carrying it out on top of him, it was probably the funniest thing I've seen.

there fast but will still get picked on watch that they don't just get chewed on but they are fast and in a large group would do just fine

I have kept Pictus with many different aggressive fish, and I still have it.

Itll be fine, go for it.
