i just planted some anubias on a piece of drift wood to go in my soon to be fully planted discus tank and i wanted to see some pictures of all your plants on driftwood to get a look at what mine could look like. plus it could just be a fun thread. so post some pictures. ill be posting mine after work tonight

Here is a pic of mine with anubias and java fern attached to the driftwood.

I have a small hole in my driftwood I fed the roots threw and it seems the roots keep it in the hole. If you don't have holes in your wood, try using a large drill bit or a couple side by side to make a oval and feed the roots threw that. Then you might not have to use string to hold them down for a more natural look.

good idea i never thought of that but i already got mine tied down so they should take soon i just wanted to see some majorly covered pieces of driftwood

@Jag1980...its a bad idea to keep low light plants like anubias n ferns right near the surface, they grow best shaded be other big plants.

Yea, the hole trick works really well for the anibus especially. We have lots of nice peices at the LFS where I work, all of the have hole bored through them and the plants are really well rooted to them, looks great too because you won't see the roots as much (if at all) as when they are just tied on.

are one of those yfz's in your display urs

no the yfz is my bubbys mine is the polaris that has been modded like crazy. but i just blew the motor on it so im going to be getting a yfz here soon.... hopefully

I use to have it planted in the substrate, then moved it to the log a week ago. My Anubias has tripled in size in little over a month.

This is only temporary until I get my new substrate, then everything is getting moved and I will be stocking plants. They are just there growing out for now.
