was at the LFS about 4 days ago and came across a fish all by its self.. i asked about him and they told me he was a pig nosed puffer.... i fell inlove with the little guy ... they said that hed get about 6 inches long and would only eat feeders.... which sounded like a bunch of crock .. im not a big fan of feeding feeders...... but any ways..... i was thinkingabout getting one but i was wondering if any mfk'ers might have personal experience with them, food, compatable? etc

i know its hard to get em off feeders, and they will probably not tolerate tankmates. i had a similar puffer and the only thing it would live with was a rafael cat.

LOL, thanks! Actually, everything you need to know is in those links.

Getting a puffer off feeders is actually quite easy... you just have to find something they like to eat better than feeders...

I found with my Palembangs that Mussels worked wonders, and for my congo, scallops did the trick...

as far as the feedings go where would i find market shrimp? could you get it at wal-mart shelled or unshelled... same goes for the muscles.....

Get the ones with the shells on, uncooked. Pretty much anywhere they sell eating fish or a produce dept. I think I get it cheapest at Sam's Club.
