hello monsterfishkeepers
as you may have seen in won of my other threads im in the mits of buying an 8x3x2 aquarium and was thinking of stocking ideas.

stock
1x Fly river turtle
2x motoro stingray
12x wide bar silver dollars
1x banjar red arowana

With this stocking i had some questions

Ive heard many stories of Fly river turtles killing rays, nipping exc.\but the fly river turtle im purchasing has been kept with motoros peacfully before. But sadly the owner of the turtle is keeping her in a 2.5ft cube tank which is 220 litres (55 gallons) and the turtle is 18inches!!would this affect its behaviour its been in that tank for 3 months.Being downgraded from a 4ft tank.
Would the wide bar silver dollars possibly be sort of a dither fish for the turtle which would distract it from the pancake cough cough sorry stingrays .

Could i add more fish such as p bass as the tank goes on??Possibly Datnoids aswell??

The arowana is not a must and if advised not to would happily not accompany it inside the tank due to money haha the ain focus of the tank is getting rays and fly river turtle.

motoro stingrays will get 18-24 inches in diameter, so I think you'll need a larger tank for them. Aside from that I think you'll be fine. I don't know enough about turtles to really say how the turtle would act with stingrays or silver dollars. With just an arowana and silver dollars, you probably could add in a smaller datnoid or smaller peacock bass (one that stays in 18-24 inch range). Definitely don't add in a golden dorado, a golden dorado will get too big for that tank, let alone that tank with an arowana and silver dollars in it.

Yes I

Yes I was thinking of keeping the Motorola till they got like 15 inches and then buy a black diamond stingray

a fish should be able to comfortably turn around in a tank. If the animal is roughly the same size as the tank is wide generally it will not work.

I was told an 8ft long by 3ft wise foot print would be perfect even so joey(king of diy) successfully bred 2 black diamond stingrays in an 8x3

He BRED them, people breed discus in tanks like this all the time, it doesn't make them a suitable long term tank for life

With that being said, having 2 stingrays that are over half the tanks width will likely result in aggression and other problems, ontop of that you will need to have one hell of a filtration system to maintain a tank like that.

Leopoldi get 18+ inches https://www.seriouslyfish.com/species/potamotrygon-leopoldi/
Henlei will also get 18+ inches https://www.seriouslyfish.com/species/potamotrygon-henlei/

The smallest stingray is the Scobina, they get 12 inches.
