About two weeks ago I bought a pbd from a local fish breeder. The discus is 4 months old and about 2.5". It must have been on a bloodworm or beefheart diet before I purchased it. The whole time I have had it, I havnt seen it eat. Maybe its scavenging off of the ground when Im not around, I want to break it of this bw/bh habit and get it onto flakes and pellets, the eventually get the discus and all other fish in my 55 onto spectrum pellets. any suggestions or concerns???:nilly:

It may starve to death before it eats pellets and flakes but there is a way to condition it to eat some dry food. Feed bw/bh and flakes or pellets at the same time so it associates the new food with the food it likes. Discus will not do well on dry food alone. You will surely get a bloated, constipated fish with swim bladder issues. It's probably not eating now. They can go weeks even months without food before they waste away and die.

try feeding it in the morning but keep feeding it BW and BH.... just every morning try and change it up.... Or you can try a Seafood mix instead of BF... tuna salmon cod shrimp along thoses lines....

if the discus only eats blood worms, is that going to be giving him enough nutrition? thank you all for the help!
