Hello....I have raised large cichlids(off and on) for about 20 years.....
I remember (yes there was a time before the internet...hard to believe)
when seeing a pike, they were small, no color, and hide all the time....
THIS SITE HAS OPENED MY EYES!!!!!!!
Any way, I have finally finished setting up my "Twin Titan Tanks"!!!!!!
(There will be a documentary on my tanks once all the bugs are out...
just remember the three T'S...fully automated...three years in the making)
Enough about that....coming soon to MFK.......
Now, I have a 750gal pushed together with a 600gal (six inches of width is
the only difference....both same length .....so it looks like one tank)
I have made two homes for pikes in each tank...
a 12inch rectangular ceramic pot with a 5 inch hole cut out on each end
and a 18inch rectangular ceramic pot with a 6 inch hole cut out on each end
in each tank................don't get me started on the driftwood and lava rock
caves....(I am hoping the pikes will take the ceramic caves)
The pikes i have in mind at the moment and avalibility also an issue but
this site helps allot.....are (remember I am only going to get one species
of pikes in each tank and my heavy weight cichlids are in the smaller tank, but less fish)
Cobra, Morrato, Astobala 1, Cinta, Lents, (ignore the spelling).....
the most agressive cichlids are in my 600gal (I was thinking Red terrors and
Black Nastys...with a pair of pikes)...only a couple of each...
my 750gal will have red devils, mota's, vieja, carpinte and a pair of pikes....
so my question is(hole in the head is def. an issue)...no dwarf pikes...
which pikes would you put in which tank?????
Sorry about the long drawn out question.....Thanks
