There is plenty of beautiful hybrids of other cichlids. It's a yes or no answer.

Although hybridizing "might" produce a beautiful individual. To me is it a philosophical question. There are already over 75 natural species of pike cichlids, each with different beautiful colors, and each is adapted to be perfect in its natural habitat by evolution, and nature. Man induced hybrid (mutts) circumvent this entire survival of the fittest process. If you want man induced fish, why not stick goldfish, instead of messing with the progeny of perfectly adapted and established species. To me a mutt, is a mutt, is a mutt, no matter how much you polish it. So far, the hobby has not yet bastardized pike cichlids (hat I know of), yet these days its hard to go into a LFS and acquire legitimate species of Vieja, Amphilophus, or many rift African cichlids anymore because so many are bastardized into generic non ID-able mutts).

I've never heard of it, if you do. Please cull. As mentioned above it is getting harder to find pure cichlids. I'm not aginst hybrids, but I wish people were more responsible with them.
