What sort of conditions do these guys need? (Water hardness, PH, etc)

How big do the ones in the ID thread grow respectively?

Which would be ok to comm with any of the following?

Arowanas
Lungfish
Spiny Eels
FW Rays
Snakeheads
Gars
Knifefish
Bichirs
Non-TSN/RTC Large Catfish
Large Characins

They aren't too picky, but around neutral or slightly acidic and softer is best. Mine are in water that is around 7.5 because that's how it comes out of the tap. I do use driftwood in their tanks, though.

I'm not sure on all the adults sizes of the ones at the top, but all of those get 12-20" or around there.

they should be fine w/ all of those tankmates, except probably snakeheads, but it all comes down to individual personalities of all the fish. Gator gars aren't a good idea and some large characins can be iffy.

i have to be honest, not too many fish can live with lungs or snake heads. otherwise they would do fine with the rest. they are very versitile fish and can take all different spectrums of water quality. crenicichla range anywhere from 3" full grown to 24". i recomend creni from the lugubris group if you intend on keeping them with the fish you listed.

I forgot to say that it depends on the species of lungfish. Most aren't a good idea

tk, tsk! should have said something sooner. your slacking! poor guy already put a regani with his aus. lung.

lmao. imagine that.

what species of lung may do ok as an example so he knows whether or not he may be able to mix a creni with it? i have never looked into lungs, so i have no clue.

LOL. I can't remember what the most tank-friendly species is. Should be easy to find on the lungfish subforum.

They do we'll in soft slightly acidic water alot will do fine in all sorts of water types

can't remember all the pikes in Peanuts sticky theres
Johanna which get 12''-14',' Xingu I get 12''-16'' commonly, SP. venezuala get 14''-18'', Lenticulata 14''-16'' some times bigger and Marmorata will get around 12''-14''

I would get a large pike like one of those and it could work

Wow
A cobra snakehead and a cobra pike that would be something, it has deadmatch written all over it. Pike can hold their own against just about anything on your list........as long as that anything isn't a snakehead, I can't say I've ever kept a lung fish.

SA and AU are the only 100% compatible Lungfish out there. The situation is pretty iffy on the part of the Africans and to date, none are considered comm friendly in general. However, I have yet to hear much on the dolloi or amphibius.

Would any of the less aggressive species of snakehead work? (The only ones that people seem to suggest are maruliodes and pleurophthalma.)
