I recently picked up a pike cichlid from my lfs and was wondering if anyone has experience with these fish and has any tips

Looks sp belly crawler. Don’t keep with smaller fish. Normal water changes and no specific water requirements. Will take most prepared foods.
I kept mine with other non-similar looking species (higher bodied species), and nothing small enough to swallow, in a 150gal tank, without problems.
I wouldn't keep them with Parachromis, or other elongated predatory type species.
When I got the 6 or 8 as juvies at an GCCA cichlid auction and put them in a 6 ft tank to grow out, the most dominant one (a female) ate all her brothers and sisters.
A friend who also got a bag at the same auction, ended up with a male that ate all its young brothers and sisters inches tank.
I then ended up with his male (at the time @ 6"), and as adults they were both fine tother.
