Are there any species that get large enough to keep with a RTC? I'd love to get one someday after the pond is done...

In a quick word No!! :(

RTC's can and do attain 4' PLUS so there are very few species of anything you can keep with a Predatory cat that big without it being on the Menu

I have heard rumors of 24" C. sp 'venezeula" in the wild but none confirmed. C. lenticulata can get to 18" same with a few other lubugris types but all will probably be eaten by a large rtc.

I'm aware that basically all possible tankmates will be on the menu, when he does attain such a size I'll probably have to make a separate pond just for him. :grinyes: I just want to know what would be the safest choice.

I might look into those two, they'd probably need to be in a growout tank for quite a while tho... and hopefully the fish aren't some insane price that will really hurt if the rtc decides to snack...:WHOA:

Sadly, their is no pike that can live with a rtc.

the body shape of a pike (hence the name) makes it completely 100% not rtc safe.
