What kinds of pike cichlid can I keep in a 75 with a green terror? Are they aggressive to cichlids other than pikes? Also, do most of them need live food, or will they eat anything? Thanks

most pikes ignore other fish to big to eat, only a few stuborn adult wild caught pikes require live food, Almost all the fish I import get on pellets and flakes within a few weeks. Ken

What are some of the species that are commonly available? The GT is only 3.5 inches, and I'd rather avoid it getting eaten.

i have a 4" pike cichlid with two 5" oscars, a 5" peacock bass, 3 convicts, a firemouth, and a nicoroquensis. the pike minds his own business for the most part. my tank is extremely aggressive but he leaves the other fish alone unless he is defending himself (which he has proven more then capable of doing.) as long as he is relativley the same size as your other fish he will be fine. i bought my best friend a 4" pike and he is kept with a texas, and two red devils. one is 8" and one is 10". the pike is fine. these fish are really tough, i would be more concerned about the other fish in the tank. but then again i guess itd depend upon the personality of the fish.

bump. What specific species?
Any of the saxitillis pikes would do....

Okay thanks. I'm buying a 75 tomorrow, I'll have to check my LFS to see what they have.

Try to get Crenicichla anthurus if possible, probably one of the best looking Saxatilis pikes. Kinda annoying to find them though...;) There IS someone on this site though that might be willing to sell his...
